Ha ha. Books say fish school because of
= Predator pressure, increased ability to locate patchy food, conservation of
energy (heat generated), creation of currents that facilitate locomotion, increased
likelihood of finding mates.
Generate heat in water? Give me a break.
Any currents would push BACKWARDS against the rest!
Find a mate? Females squirt out eggs and males squirt
out sperm, that's called finding a mate?
And if the schooling only happens to juveniles?
And when males build nests to attract females, so
the school!!???
What a load of armchair bull. Fish most likely school
because of electro-receptor lines along their flanks that enable them to swim
together and instantaneously maintain "formation" - it feels good to them; evolution
"selected" that method of "safety in numbers."
